The 66 Coronet was a redesigned model and now measured an inch less than the previous year. The 1966 Dodge Coronet included the race hemi option. The engine used in this model was the most powerful car engine made at that time. The 1966 Coronet was available in fifteen different hues. Bucket seats were a part of this model and were a highly desired option. One could either go in for a vinyl or a vinyl and cloth option for the car seats.

The Coronet Deluxe was also introduced this year as well. It was a mid range model that was sandwiched between the base model and the 440 model.

Also new this year was the four door option, which was a more popular option for families, but didn’t appeal to the younger demographic.

The 500 model was quite rare as only around 136 unites were ever produced.
