The body of the 69 Chevelle was the same as the prior year. That being said, its new good looks came from a change to the grille, headlamp bezels, tail lights, and other minor upgrades. These changes may not sound like a big deal, but anytime the grille and headlamps of a car are altered it is bound to appear a bit different – and that is exactly what happened with the 1969 Chevelle.

The 1969 Chevelle was made available to the public in several trim levels including: the Chevelle 300, Chevelle Nomad, Chevelle Malibu, Chevelle Concourse, and the popular 1969 Chevelle SS . Interior color options also varied greatly to include: light green, dark blue, black, red, parchment, saddle, and dark metallic green. Bucket and bench seats were available in all of these colors.

The base engine in the 1969 Chevelle was a powerful V6. Of course, those interested in more horsepower had the option of upgrading to a V8 big block with 325, 350, or 375 horsepower. Both manual and automatic transmissions were available.
