The 1969 Pontiac GTO was very similar to the model that came before it. Of course, Pontiac made some key changes to ensure that the 1969 GTO was one of the best of all time.

When compared to the previous model, it was easy to see from the outside that the 1969 Pontiac GTO did not have the vent windows. Along with this, the grille was changed ever so slightly and the taillights received minor revisions as well.

The previous base engine remained in place for the 1969 GTO. It was a 350 horsepower 400 cid V8. As you can see, even the best engine in this car was quite large and produced a lot of power. The 360 horsepower V8 was upgraded to the Ram Air III – this was a big change for the 1969 model year.

The Ram Air V was introduced by Pontiac in 1969. This special 400 block had an all new design that car enthusiasts were waiting on for years. Unfortunately, this option was not installed at the Pontiac plant. Instead, it was an over the counter product. Even then, it became quite popular in a relatively short period of time.

The biggest change to this model was the introduction of the 1969 GTO Judge The original idea for the Judge was to strip it down and make it a low cost GTO. But during the development phase things changed quite a bit and Pontiac decided to make it the best of the best in terms of appearance and performance. The result was a package that cost approximately $337 more than the base model.

The Judge included the following upgrades: Ram Air III engine, Rally II wheels, wide tires, Hurst shifter, rear spoiler and unique decals. At first, the Judge model was only offered in one color: Carousel Red. But later on in the year Pontiac decided to produce the car in different colors.

During the 1969 model year Pontiac sold 72,287 GTO’s. Although this was a respectable number, the 1969 Pontiac GTO was outsold by both its main competitors: the Plymouth Road Runner and the Chevrolet Chevelle SS396. Out of those sold, only 6,833 were the Judge model. The rarest car from this model year was the Ram Air IV Judge convertible with only five being built.

The 1969 Pontiac GTO was one of the top muscle cars of its time. Thanks to the Judge model, this vehicle has held its value over the years and is now considered by many to be a classic.

The 1969 Dodge Superbee vehicle is often times referred to as the 1969 Dodge Super Bee Six Pack as well. No matter what you call this car, one thing is for sure: it was a popular ride upon being released, and is considered a classic in today’s automotive world.

To make this car one of the best, Dodge took Mopar’s 440 cid Magnum V8 with 375 horsepower and hopped it up just a little bit. In other words, this was more than just your basic V8 – even though that may have been enough to get people talking anyway. They decided to replace the single Carter quad with three Holley two barrels. This change, as well as a few others, helped to boost performance in the Dodge Super Bee to 390 bhp.

Standard on the 1969 Dodge Super Bee was a Hurst four speed. On this car, TorqueFlight was a popular option – but that was just about the only one. Dodge did not allow for cruise control, air conditioning, or disc brakes on the 1969 Super Bee. While this may seem a bit strange when compared to today’s cars, it was easy to see that Dodge was simply trying to keep this car as a performance machine.

The 1969 Dodge Super Bee Six Pack came with a V8 horsepower engine (440 cid). Along with this, the name was put on the outside on both sides of the hood. To get into the Six Pack you had to pay an extra $463. This was approximately $500 less than what was paid to get a Hemi engine. It goes without saying that this engine was not as fast as the Hemi. That being said, it could keep up until 70 miles per hour or so.

The 1969 Dodge Super Bee had a Hemi grade suspension – this was all part of the muscle car feel. With this suspension, handling was very good for a car of this era.

The 1969 Dodge Super Bee had a wheelbase of 117 inches; weight of 4,100 pounds, and a base price of $4,300.

Dodge only produced 1,907 1969 Super Bees. With such a small number of these cars on the road, there is no wondering why they are so popular among collectors today!

The 1969 Dodge Charger is one of the most famous muscle cars of all time. It goes without saying that most people consider this vehicle to be a classic. Although the 1969 Charger was similar in many ways to those of the past, there were some changes that gave it a distinct look and feel.

When compared to past models, the 1969 Dodge Charger can be easily distinguished by the new grille and center divider. This change gave the front end of the car a more aggressive appearance that buyers were craving at the time.

A new trim line was also made available: the Special Edition (SE). Dodge even made this trim available with the popular R/T – making for an R/T-SE. Buying the SE model meant getting leather inserts for the front seats, wood grain steering wheel and dash, and chrome rocker moldings. Although these upgrades did not have anything to do with performance, they were well received nonetheless.

A sunroof option was also made available on the 1969 Charger. Believe it or not, it was very rarely ordered. In fact, Dodge only installed this option on approximately 260 cars.

So, what made the 1969 Dodge Charger so popular? When the car was featured in the popular television series, The Dukes of Hazzard, the Charger really took off. It was named the “General Lee” in the show, and many people believe it to be the most recognizable car in the world – even to this day. If it were not for The Dukes of Hazzard it is safe to say that the 1969 Dodge Charger rt may have never gained so much popularity.

Two race inspired models of the 1969 Dodge Charger were available: the Daytona and the 500. These cars were more than just your average run of the mill Charger. Instead, they were meant to be powerful cars that could outperform the competition at every turn of the road.

Engine selections included the base 225 Slant Six, as well as five V8’s. The most powerful V8 engine was a 425 horsepower known as the “Street Hemi.” This may sound familiar as Dodge has just recently begun to use the Hemi name once again. Although the 1969 Dodge Charger with the Hemi is talked about quite a bit, only 400 or so of these cars were produced.

In 1969 Dodge sold approximately 85,000 Chargers. To this day, the 1969 Dodge Charger is still one of the most recognizable cars of the past.
